Job Description

Introduction

This position is for a Metrology Engineer in GLOBALFOUNDRIES India center at Bangalore. Selected individual will work remotely with a dynamic team of world-class technical professionals at the GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 9 in Essex Jct., Vermont, USA. Metrology Process engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing process operations and maintaining the overall quality of metrology measurements. In addition, the engineer is responsible for sustaining and improving productivity of tooling and processes used to provide critical feedback to other process modules

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor all qualified processes using SPC and other statistical tools.
  • Setup recipes/job files in all metrology tools in the Module. Do regular housekeeping of production job files.
  • Perform data analysis of key performance indicators used to diagnose and resolve issues in the sector to increase process quality and yield.
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, customers, and suppliers
  • Support of manufacturing counterparts during periods of high WIP through sampling reductions and staffing support
  • Provide proper and accurate passdown of line issues, outstanding follow-up tasks and documentation.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:

  • B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc with 0-5 years of relevant experience in Electrical (Microelectronics)/ Electronics Engineering or Applied Physics
  • Solid understanding of SPC, data driven decision making and able to demonstrate problem solving skills through control documented processes to minimize risk.
  • Basic knowledge of semiconductor processing and technology is required.
  • Working experience in CMOS process and process module/equipment (200mm/300mm) are strongly desired
  • Hands-on experience with CD-SEMs, Film thickness measurement tools, surface topology profilers and litho overlay equipment will bring added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a globally matrixed team or environment
  • Aggressive learner and a strong team player, excellent analytical skills, on-time delivery of assigned work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates with hands on experience on SPC, measurement of thickness, SEM, OCD and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor IC manufacturing processes.
