Roles and Responsibilities

Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to support operational health (performance, availability, interoperability, reliability) of Lowe's Technology Systems. This includes providing first and second-level support for enterprise systems.

This role delivers infrastructure solutions in support of components of larger project-based solutions.

The individual in this role assists more senior level engineers with infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture, and works with Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements.

At times, this role may deliver work on a smaller component scale independently, with a high level of autonomy.

The individual in this role must be comfortable suggesting, promoting, and using published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure regulatory and license compliance.

The individual in this role works the hours and schedule required to support the enterprise and may be on call and/or work alternate schedules to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)
2 years of experience in an IT support environment with technical experience in distributed technologies and systems development
Experience with systems (both infrastructure and applications) management, diagnostics, and support
Familiarity with networking, server, and storage technologies
Familiarity with n-tier architectures

Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
2 years of experience leading technical or project teams with or without direct reports
1 year of work experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior management (i.e., Director level or higher)
2 years of experience working in a large matrixed organization
2 years of experience working with third party IT vendors and/or systems solution providers
2 years of IT experience in the retail industry
2 years of experience writing technical documentation in an infrastructure development environment
Knowledge of one or more of the following: Unix/Linux/Windows server administration experience (RedHat); Configuration management and automation tools; Database administration experience (RDBMS, NoSQL); Messaging technologies (MQ. Kafka); Web Servers Experience (Apache, Nginx); Application containers (Jboss); Core Services - NTP, proxy, mail, DNS; IT security; Public/Private Cloud technology; Scripting languages; Object-oriented languages; Big Data technologies (Splunk)
Systems Administration
Experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework (systems administration related qualification)
Experience providing first or second level support for enterprise IT systems in a corporate setting, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents (systems administration related qualification)
Experience working with defect or incident tracking software (systems administration related qualification)
Alert Monitoring, Incident Handling and KBA Execution knowledge are mandatory. Need to have knowledge about Monitoring console and Ticketing systems.
Shell scripting knowledge is must.
Strong knowledge of Linux-RHEL and UNIX-AIX Administration. Additional UBUNTU knowledge is also advisable.
Knowledge on server maintenance.
Strong troubleshooting skill.
Should have experience in handling operational and applicational support issues is production environment
File Systems, Memory and Process management and troubleshooting.
Installation and Configuration of Red hat Servers .
Install, update and upgrade the packages using with rpm and yum tools.
Processes administration and Management like monitoring, start/stop/kill various processes.
Configuration of Remote Access utilities, providing user access control on services like telnet, FTP and SSH.
Monitoring the Servers performance using with performance monitoring tools like top and PS etc..
Strong team player, good communication and interpersonal skills
Results oriented and highly flexible

Hands-on experience in troubleshooting/working on LVM file systems, troubleshooting of NFS mount points and configuring mount points in Linux Servers

Good experience on troubleshooting of VM’s, taking snapshot and restoration in VMWare

Hands-on experience and troubleshooting the servers in Console/ILO's

Practical knowledge about container orchestration Kubernetes is required

Hands-on experience & troubleshooting in Docker and Run deck and MQ experience is required.
