What you'll do

As LG&RA’s investigation resource in India, you’ll be allocated matters that have been referred to L&I for investigation, spanning a variety of sensitive and security related internal incidents including; alleged policy and process breaches, theft of assets, regulatory or compliance breaches, internal fraud, whistleblowing cases, incidents of bullying and harassment, loss of data or services and incidents that may have a detrimental impact upon the reputation of the Bank. Under the supervision of a Senior or Managing Investigator you’ll use a variety of tools to plan and conduct high quality, timely, robust internal investigations into these matters, reaching sound evidence-based conclusions that are clearly communicated for the benefit of our key stakeholders.

You’ll be expected to report findings, provide a clear, substantiated opinion of investigation outcomes, and to discuss and validate these with key stakeholders. You’ll also report any risks and control weaknesses identified within the businesses and processes investigated, providing constructive recommendations for related improvements. You’ll also undertake various project management activities whilst developing, maintaining and sharing specialist knowledge and training others.

Day-to-day, you’ll be:

  • Developing, maintaining and leveraging internal relationships throughout investigations
  • Advising and challenging at any stage of the investigation to improve quality
  • Assisting with post implementation reviews
  • Complying with and role modelling organisation procedures and policies as well as the unit’s professional standards and best practice
  • Assisting with drafting case updates, such as inclusion in governance reporting, executive briefs and reports
  • Getting involved in workstreams and networking opportunities within the L&I team and the wider LG&RA function
  • Demonstrating continual progress and improvement towards achieving internal accreditation

The skills you'll need

We’re essentially looking for someone with a problem solving mindset and an inquiring, tenacious disposition. You’ll have the ability to make informed recommendations with sound reasoning. We’ll expect you to exercise discretion, with high levels of personal integrity. A background in law or regulation, an in-house or consultancy based investigations team, or law enforcement will be preferred but is not essential. Similarly, experience in interviewing victims, potential witnesses and investigation subjects would be advantageous.

You’ll demonstrate transferrable skills, knowledge and experience that qualify you for the role, including:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, in English
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and to deliver on time
