About the role:
ElectrifAi is looking to hire an enthusiastic and motivated Software Engineer who has experience in Production support and maintenance of data management and analytics based solutions. He / She will be a member of our software engineering team, should maintain projects in production.
As part of engineering group, will work directly with engineers in a dynamic, open
environment, employing the latest techniques and best practices and utilizing
the best in class tools and frameworks a highly distributed, scalable, and enterprise-class SaaS products.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day support for data management and analytics-based solutions, including production support on proprietary and Big Data platforms and tools such as Python, SQL, Shell etc.
- Work within engineering group to maintain projects in production, provide production support, monitoring, performing operations and enhancements
- Implement solution improvement initiatives and reusable automations to save time and effort in maintaining solutions in production environment
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal guidance in project deliverables and communication
- Work on problem-solving & debugging exercises and participate in brainstorming sessions on any project delivery analysis, including client/user issues, solution enhancements etc.
- Develop business/domain understanding of the underlying solution to better comprehend changes and enhancements in the system
- Pro-actively communicate issues/concerns to project leadership to mitigate risks to projects
- Work closely with leads/managers in creating project documentations, test validation documents, run books, track code changes, maintain issues/bugs list and participate in trainings/KT sessions
- Develop prototypes and proof of concepts for the selected solutions
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in production support and maintenance. Prior working knowledge in Big Data/Analytics solutions will be an added advantage
- Very good understanding of DBMS concepts is a must. Hands-on experience in any of the relational or NoSQL databases is required e.g. Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB
- Excellent scripting skills in Shell and Python
- Good at technical troubleshooting, monitoring, data analysis & reporting using MS-Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Big Data ecosystem such as Hadoop, Hive, Impala etc. is desirable
Additional qualifications:
- Ability to devise a clear logical reasoning and be challenged to solve complex problems on a day to day basis
- Ability to communicate across levels with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be proficient in designing efficient and robust ETL workflows
- To be able to work in teams and collaborate with others to clarify requirements To be able to assist in documenting requirements as well as resolve conflicts or ambiguities
