Description
The Data Analyst role requires an individual with strong skills in working with large data sets which require analysis to help drive to various conclusions for our clients. A background in business intelligence platform development and data analytics is required to support the continued development and support of a custom centralized analytics solution.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate core competencies in the following areas:
- Conduct data analysis, align or establish relationships across disparate data sets.
- Interpret data, discuss and refine business requirements and produce design and implementation specifications for an analytics visualization solution.
- Analyze requirements to be able to determine and recommend appropriate solutions for business problems
- Demonstrates critical thinking by reviewing numbers and calculations, data trends and driving to conclusions across data sets
- Work closely with business unit personnel to present findings or translate data to understandable solutions for clients.
- Work closely with internal business analysts to:
- Support Qlik scripting language for dashboard development, customization of existing scripts, development of new scripts, KPI calculation, etc.
- Participate in an iterative development process
- Define data relationships (light modeling)
- Manage and monitor the ongoing client data imports for client solutions
- Fix defects identified by business or client community
- Develop enhancements such that they can be utilized by one-to-many clients
- Quality Assurance Testing
- Review and analyze system specifications
- Execute test cases and analyze results
- Evaluate product code according to specifications
- Report bugs and errors to development teams
- Help troubleshoot issues
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required degrees, certificates or competencies:
- Must have experience in data modeling and analysis
- A minimum of 5 years related work experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- An analytical mind and inclination for problem solving
- Demonstrate Business Intelligence solution experience
- Working knowledge of SQL Server 2012/ Azure
- Business Intelligence software platform experience
- Ability to conduct business analysis and requirements gathering
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
- Experience integrating data sources through ETL s and API s is preferred.
