Job Description

Digital Marketing Data Analyst (Power BI)

We are looking for professionals with deep data analysis skills, with an emphasis on Digital Marketing, to join our Fund Marketing Services team. The data analysts role is critical in sourcing, centralising, modelling, mining and visualizing data from multiple digital platforms (e.g. CMS, CRM, Marketing Automation Platform, Web analytics etc.). He/She needs to be continuously learning and evolving; and should constantly provide recommendations on the sourcing, processing and visualization of data. In addition, this individual will need strong verbal and written skills in the English language and be able to communicate effectively, working in a fast-paced agile environment.

The successful candidate will be part of the clients digital marketing team that uses data to automate certain human decisions; to automate fund and content recommendations based on clients preferences, behavior, peers and eventually machine learning across web properties and emails. The goal is to track and analyze session data, identify and predict behavioral trends, build audience personas, implement predictive content marketing, and create dashboards to visualize data to effectively communicate results to Sales, Marketing and senior management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Create models to group the different types of channels that engage with the client business, provide insights on those various personas, and identify where each individual is in the sales cycle and conversion funnel.
  • Provide comprehensive PowerBI based dashboards and reporting at the client / audience level, tied to products using key performance indicators and benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with developers of other systems to test, update and optimize data integration across sales and marketing systems.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to define and understand data visualisation requirements to plan integration implementation.
  • Mining data from primary and secondary sources and reorganizing said data in a format that can be easily read.
  • Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and integration with system components as required.
  • In-depth analysis and evaluation of data using analytical and logical reasoning to examine each component of data provided.
  • Creating appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process.
  • Preparing reports for executive leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration errors.
  • Collaborating with Senior Digital Marketing team members and leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend system modifications.

This position entails:

  • 50-70% working on custom reporting and dashboards to cater to various business units communicating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
  • 20-30% integrating systems and retrieving granular level data to fulfil data requirements of stakeholders
  • 10-20% providing recommendations and process improvements to digital marketing data management

Required Background

  • BSc or MSc in Information Technology or quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Analytics, Math, Statistics, or equivalent)
  • 3+ years experience in a similar capacity
  • Practical knowledge of data in various forms (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data environments)
  • Extensive experience implementing solutions for data visualization using PowerBI
  • Strong understanding of machine learning techniques, statistical analysis and data modelling
  • Web analytics tool experience, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manger
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with programming and statistical languages such as SQL, Python and R
  • Excellent written/verbal communication in the English language
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work in a team with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Solution oriented with a high sense of quality, attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Team player who is also able to work independently and handle conflicting priorities while maintaining consistent, quality performance standards.
  • Knowledge/interest in capital markets, funds, and asset management will be an advantage
