Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

Uses technical, industrial, and interpersonal skills to program the data entry screens, edit check programs, reports, integrations and to develop and maintain programs required for handling external vendor data. Uses technical, industrial, and interpersonal skills to create case report forms (CRFs) for trials.

  • Reviews the design and assembly of data entry screens.
  • Responsible for the edit check programming. Reviews Edit Check Plans and provides comments, assembles edit programs from the appropriate library, and modifies library edit programs to meet trial-specific requirements.
  • Responsible for Custom Report specification and development. Tests output to ensure they meet the trial requirements.
  • Contributes to the management of trial deliverables, scope and resource allocation. Calculates, tracks, and communicates metrics to the project team and functional management. Actively participates in internal meetings and provides constructive feedback to peers, team leads and managers, and functional management.
  • Contributes to management of external data by reviewing Data Transfer Specifications and providing constructive feedback to the team leads. Creates and maintains the external data handling instructions and import program specifications. Receives and manages regular imports of data as specified in the contract.
  • Function as the lead developer with responsibility in creating and maintaining libraries for use in designing, building, and testing data-entry screens and edit-check programs.
  • Provides support and review for the re-use of library items.
  • Creates and tests custom reports and programs to meet trial requirements.
  • Serves as the lead for one or more projects and actively participates in client meetings and audits.
  • Function as the lead developer with responsibility in providing comments on data-entry screens.
  • Provides support with complex data entry screen programming.
  • Creates and maintains data integration plans within the clinical database.
  • Helps prepare materials and participates in industry meetings as a representative of PRA.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) within a chosen field of CSD. Assists, under instruction of the development and implementation of improvements to CSD systems and processes within the SME role.
  • Assists in the development of materials for the bid defense process and client demonstrations.
  • Increases the general knowledge of the CSD group through presentations and preparation of training materials.
  • Organizes, creates, and oversees the administration of training and mentoring for junior levels.
  • Under specific instruction consolidates the high-level system requirements for the trial by creating the draft clinical system design guide (CSDG) and facilitating its review.
  • Copies and modifies CRFs from libraries and other studies under specific instruction.
  • Performs quality control of CRFs under specific instructions and captures all comments from the study team and client.
  • May supervise up to three individuals with assistance from functional management and acts in place of the functional manager during an absence.
