Job Purpose : The candidate should be able to lead cardiovascular biology drug discovery projects, have hands on experience in echocardiography and working with ipsc-derived cardiomyocytes
Key Responsibilities:
a. Characterize heart failure rodent models using echocardiography and other downstream assays
b. Handling of cardiomyocytes (primary or ipsc-derived or established cardiomyocyte cell lines, mixed co-culture systems)
c. Ideation of novel drug targets in heart failure therapeutic area, ex vivo/in vitro validation of novel targets
d. Lead/ support drug discovery programs
e. Presentation and communication of data to relevant teams
f. Following Syngenes data quality, integrity and EHSS guidelines
Educational Qualification: PhD in life sciences
Technical/functional Skills:
a. Animal handling experience, rodent echocardiography
b. Isolation of cardiomyocytes from rodents/rabbits, handling cardiomyocytes (primary/ ipsc-derived/ established cardiomyocyte cell lines)
c. Co-culture systems using cardiomyocytes/macrophages/fibroblasts, 3D-cell culture
Experience: PhD (0-2 years of relevant work experience - Heart failure, cardiomyopathy, Cardio-immunology)
Behavioral Skills: ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team; good verbal and written communication
